RADIOLOGY
Radiology or diagnostic imaging is the use of imaging modalities, such as radiography, CT, MRI and ultrasound.
Radiology and diagnostic imaging are used synonymously. Imaging modalities frequently used in marine mammal medicine include radiography, ultrasound, CT (computed tomography) and MRI (magnetic resonance imaging). PET-CT, fMRI and nuclear scintigraphy have also been used but are beyond the scope of this site.
