Sinusitis is a common finding in post mortem evaluation of cetaceans
Sinusitis is a common finding post mortem in stranded cetaceans. The significance is uncertain and research is underway to try and better understand the role of sinusitis in strandings.

The orange arrowhead points to the normal pterygoid sinus while the blue arrow head points to the fluid filled contralateral pterygoid sinus, suggestive of sinusitis.
